Stanbic Bank Botswana has elevated two long-serving executives into key leadership roles, with Morufhi Masikara moving into a wider Standard Bank Group position and Lebea Sephuma taking charge of Business and Commercial Banking in Botswana.

Masikara has been appointed Client Coverage Head, Core Markets, Standard Bank Group, while Sephuma will become Head of Business and Commercial Banking at Stanbic Bank Botswana. Both appointments take effect on 1 October 2026.

Masikara joined Standard Bank Group as a graduate trainee in 2007 and has built an 18-year career spanning investment banking, risk management, transaction products and services, and client coverage. She most recently headed Corporate and Investment Banking at Stanbic Bank Botswana and now moves into a Group-wide role covering core African markets.

Sephuma’s Stanbic journey began in 2003 as a foreign exchange trader. He later held senior positions in South Africa and Eswatini before returning to Botswana in 2020. Currently Head of Global Markets, he will now lead the bank’s relationships with entrepreneurs and established businesses while connecting them to financial solutions and the wider Standard Bank Group network across Africa.

Chief Executive Chose Modise said the appointments reflect both individual achievement and Stanbic Bank Botswana’s investment in developing local leadership capable of taking on senior responsibilities at home and across the continent.
